In the far future, the known-galaxy has fallen under the thrall of the tyrannical Theocracy, ruled by the cruel Hierarch and His armies of butchers and zealots. Occasionally, one within the Hierarch’s grasp will displease their local overlord. Perhaps they are a rebel, perhaps a petty criminal, perhaps they forgot to file their tax return.

Most of these unfortunates will be executed, but occasionally, based on inscrutable legal protocols, they will be exiled instead.

Exiled, to the dreaded Tomb-World.

----------------------------------------------------

'What’s so dreadful about being exiled to a long dead world?' Is a grimdark hack of Jared Sinclair's 'What's So Cool About Outer Space' for one Game Magistrate and at least one player. In this game, the players will control Exiles; dissidents and undesirables imprisoned on an ancient, inhospitable husk of a planet by a cruel, fascist theocracy. They will struggle against mutated wildlife, demonic marauders, and the hateful loyalist Zealots, in order to eke out some measure of peace and community upon their new, wretched home.

This game is heavily inspired by Games Workshop's 'Warhammer 40,000' franchise. It is an attempt by the author to reclaim the parts of that series which they liked, such as the gothic sci-fi vibe and the absurdist black comedy, while discarding the reactionary nonsense which has crept into the series as of late. The game is still a high-action, high-violence affair, but it is not a game about gleefully doing a big war-crime and then meekly claiming it was satire after the fact.

This game's mechanics and format are heavily based on those of "What's So Cool About Outer Space?" by Jared Sinclair (https://s-jared.itch.io/whats-so-cool-about-outer-space).
