Resolution: A twelve word RPG
A downloadable nano-RPG
To play this game, you need only one six-sided dice and at least one other player to present your character with problems.
This game was inspired by the various discourses within the TTRPG milieu around how games ought to handle combat and conflict. In particular, it was inspired by the relative dearth of social mechanics within D&D 5e compared to its violence mechanics, and how this design influences player behavior.
One could interpret this game as a very blunt piece of commentary on this design. One could also use it as an extremely-light dungeon-crawling game, or a gladiator game, or a hyper-violent comedy game (if you're comfortable with that). Or, if they really wanted to, one could try to run another kind of game with these rules, but I dread to think of how that might go.
(To be clear, this game is not intended to insult or demean any designers or players; it's simply an exploration of how the conflation of combat and conflict mechanics influences conflict resolution)
Forgive me, for I have committed the one true sin; the sin of discourse.
